I used to keep a livejournal - in fact I kept that journal from when I was 15 years old through 21. I can't really say why I stopped writing in that journal. Maybe it was because it became less of a blog, and more of a way to write dada-esque poetry. For example, instead of writing about how much I loved my professor's lectures, I would write:
when you speak,
jewels fall from
your lips.
your poetry,
a littered
pattern
of stars.
I'd like for this blog to be more of a ranty-ravey, grammar-rules-out-the-window kind of style. Not sure, but I think I may have lost a lot of my creativity since I was 21 - that or it's dormant. Working a 9 - 5 and not smoking a pound of pot a day probably has a lot do with it.
Then again, the best way impart experience is through universals. I think long blog prose can sometimes lose it's clarity, making the universals difficult to relate to. But then again, David sedaris has no problem relating universals through prose... maybe I am just better at telling stories with imagery rather than dialogue.
Anyway, got to get back to work!
